Stilt Workshop!

Want to add a little length to your step? make your own set of leg stilts here in our woodshop and then the group will reconvene the following evening at Shipyards Park to take their new stilts on a supported stroll. All materials and tools will be provided during this workshop, but please bring a worn pair of shoes in your size if possible to fasten permanently to the foot stands.

The Production Assistant will work with the Artistic Director and Managing Artistic Producer, as well as other contract staff to plan, coordinate, communicate logistics, and deliver Nakai’s summer programming!

Join Gloria Mok as she weaves together a personal story about long-distance relationships and  immigration, with an ancient Chinese astrological folktale about forbidden love. Utilizing food, simple objects, and conversational Cantonese, a dinner table for a small group transforms into a liminal space that explores the challenges and triumphs of seeking love and connection at a distance.

A Room for Singing

Come sing with the Sun Room Pop-up Choir! Erica will lead a gentle body and vocal warm-up, then teach an easy 3-part harmony arrangement of "It'll Shine When It Shines" by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, a song with with big uplifting energy. The song will be taught by call and response, with lyric sheets provided.

Singers of all levels are welcome. REGISTRATION APPRECIATED!
