Welcome to Norah Paton!

Nakai Theatre is excited to announce Norah Paton as our new Managing Producer.

Norah is a theatre maker and producer from Ottawa, Canada.

She has worked professionally in many fields: as an actor, director, playwright, sound designer, lighting designer, stage manager and production manager.

She is passionate about telling stories, and especially interested in those rooted in the real world.  She often works outside or in found spaces, and in direct reaction to current events. She believes in the power of stories to build communities, start conversations and create connections.  She recently completed a master’s degree in Collaborative Theatre Production and Design at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

She’s driving up directly from working on the MEGAPHONO Music Showcase and Festival with Kelp Management. She has also worked with the Toronto Outdoor Picture Show, Skeleton Key Theatre, Canadian Improv Games, Arts Court Theatre, various museums in Ottawa through the Ingenium Corporation, Club SAW, Canada Dance Festival, the Ottawa Dance Directive and fringe festivals across the country.

You can find out more about her art and work at norahpaton.com.

With her experience and interests – including cross country skiing and outdoor adventuring – we’re very excited about what Norah will bring to Nakai and to Yukon.

We want to give a huge thanks to Zach McCann-Armitage for his time as interim Managing Producer and look forward to collaborating with him in his new job at Society of Something Shows

Also a deep bow to Jenna Winter whose work with the company over the past three years has been invaluable and we look forward to collaborating with her on anything really.

Norah should be out of quarantine by late June and we’ll make sure to introduce her in person too.
