Future Histories

Animals, ancient and futuristic, lead us on a journey of how humans relearned to survive and thrive.

By changing the stories we tell.

A time capsule from Yukon 2300.

The Climate Crisis and Pandemics led to a “new normal.”

And rather than the dystopia so commonly imagined, something else happened.

A mixed reality co-operative narrative.

In development.
Concept (and concept sketches) by Jacob Zimmer

To Watch/Play: Three friends get together. They point their phones at an empty space. The landscape of the Yukon appears before them. On that landscape, animals emerge. From those animals, we hear fables of the future.

The Fables: 15 minute “fables” are each commissioned from a different Yukoner. The fables are then adapted with the team into Mixed Reality experiences that use animation, motion capture and place based data from real Yukon locations.

Interaction: Throughout the fables, instructions and prompts create interactions and puzzles the co-players must complete in “real space” to advance through the experience and uncover delightful surprises.

What we need:

Collaborators: Game designers and producers (anywhere from full partner to consultant)

Seed Funding to get to prototype.

    • Technical R&D

    • Commissioning fables

    • Commissioning concept art

    • Adapting 3 fables for prototype.

What do you mean “mixed reality”?

  • Virtual Reality (VR) is a thing no one wants on their head. (We kid. Sort of.)

  • Augmented Reality (AR) is adding a digital layer on reality.

  • Mixed Reality (MR) is creating interactions between the digital and physical world.
