Producing Assistant – Logistics and Communication

Nakai Theatre ( is seeking a summer student who will work with the Artistic Director (Jacob Zimmer) and Managing Producer to:

  • plan, coordinate and communicate logistics and production elements for an early July production of a theatre project to be presented at the Atlin Arts and Music Festival, a major regional arts festival.

  • Assist with cataloguing, scanning and sharing Nakai archival images and material.

  • Assist with research and design of future residencies and workshops.

Responsibilities will include:  

  • organizing and communicating travel and accommodation;

  • rehearsal venue and schedule;

  • partner outreach and follow up;

  • research, design, budgeting and planning future professional development residency;

  • cataloguing and sharing highlights from Nakai archive on digital platforms.

We are looking for a committed and detail oriented person who is able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience and interest in the arts and theatre is a priority.

  • Being organized and having excellent communication skills would be an advantage

  • Comfortable and capable with computers. Experience with Google Docs, MS Office is preferred. Experience with image processing (Photoshop / scanning) and/or Squarespace is a bonus.

  • Valid driver's license is preferred.

  • Be legally able to work in the Yukon.

  • Full-time student in an accredited post-secondary institution or a graduating grade 12 student who is enrolled full-time in a university or college program in the coming fall term.

Schedule and rate:

$15/hour at 30 hours a week. Evening and weekend work will be required, especially in June. Includes pass and campsite at Atlin Arts and Music Festival. There is some flexibility in hours.

Dates of employment: June 4th - Aug 15th, 2018 (flexible start and finish)
